Major Paint correction is a process where we chase perfection for your vehicles paintwork, involving a 2-3 stage machine polish and aiming to remove 90-95% of defects in the paint. this is followed by a middle polishing stage and the final refining polish stage where required, this is very bespoke and will depend a lot on the vehicles current paint as to what can be achieved, we are more than happy to inspect before hand so we can advise accordingly.
Major Paint Correction
Defect Removal: Targets serious imperfections like bird etchings, machine holograms, and deep scratches that often require heavy cutting.
Multi-Stage Process: Involves an initial heavy cutting stage (compounding) to remove defects, followed by intermediate polishing, and finally a finishing polish to maximize gloss.
Paint Safety: Technicians use paint thickness gauges to ensure enough clear coat is present to safely remove defects.
Process Duration: Due to the meticulous nature, it can take up to 4–5 days to complete.
Preparation: A full decontamination (chemical tar/iron removal and clay bar treatment) is mandatory to ensure a clean surface before polishing.
Thorough Wash & Decontamination: Removes tar, iron deposits, and contaminants.
Paint Correction (Stage 1): Heavy cutting compound to remove deep scratches and oxidation.
Refinement (Stage 2/3): Lighter polishing to remove compounding marks and enhance gloss.
Panel Wipe: Removes polishing oils to reveal the true finish.
Protection: Application of sealant, wax, or ceramic coating (highly recommended) to protect the corrected finish.
